Dental Sealants

Many patients have deep pits and fissures on the biting surface of their back teeth.  These are areas where food and bacteria can hide out and brushing can struggle to remove debris from these areas.  Dental Sealants create a physical barrier to protect the tooth by bonding a very thin layer of resin into the pits and grooves.  We highly recommend sealants to any of our patients who present with this type of anatomy on their teeth and especially to kids since their brushing is not always thorough.  Dental sealants are some of the most beneficial preventative things you can do for your teeth outside of daily oral hygiene.  Here’s the best part, no numbing is needed and they only take a few minutes to complete. Ask your dentist for more information about Dental Sealants.
